At 20:30 local time on April 15, 2023, good news came from Bongo Substation of the Côte d'Ivoire WB III Project: After 9 hours and 262 steps of careful operation, the main transformer bay and 33kV outlet bay were energized and put into operation.This project is located near the Bongo Town in Côte d'Ivoire, and is the first EPC substation construction project won by our company in Côte d'Ivoire. The Bongo Substation is an intermediate substation and the original 90kV substation has only one 24MVA main transformer, which has a large power supply radius and low power quality. With the development of the local economy, the demand and stability requirements for electricity in the relevant regions are increasing day by day.
T project, Botswana is our company’s first EPC substation project in Botswana, which is in line with the Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP). Under the situation of high outbreak of the global pandemic, obstacles such as the organization under the pandemic influence, the equipment manufacture during the lockdown, difficulties in shipping, curfews in Botswana and so on have been overcome. The project was completed with high quality, which won the reputation of the client and the recognition of the local partners.
On October 15, 2022, Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of Tanzania, inspected the Geita-Bulyanhulu 220kV substation and transmission line project built by our company in cooperation with CAMCE (of which the substation part was built by our company), and attended the unveiling ceremony of Geita substation operation monument and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Also present were the Tanzanian Minister of Energy Yusuf Makamba, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Mlamba, the Managing Director of TANESCO Maharaj Chand, the party dignitaries at all levels and the senior staff of TANESCO, as well as CAMCE's Project Manager Bai Yang, Commercial Manager Lei Di and our Project Manager Huang Shaofeng.
On July 1, 2022, the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, attended the energization ceremony of Temane Substation of our company's Mozambique 110kV Substations Project, also present were the Swedish embassy, officials from the provinces of Inhambane and Sofala, and EDM executives, who witnessed the successful completion of the Temane Substation. At the ceremony, the president delivered a speech affirming our company's efforts and execution capabilities for the project, which once again demonstrated the company's strong contract performance capabilities.
On July 3, the Egyptian President Sisi and the Prime Minister Madbouli attended the opening ceremony of Egypt's Mansour Railway Station and the opening ceremony of the 10th Ramadan City Electrified Light Rail Project. The Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang was also invited to attend. The 10th Ramadan City Electrified Light Rail Project is the first electrified light rail in Egypt and Africa. It is located on the central axis of Egypt's "Eastern Economic Corridor" and connects the three major cities of Cairo, the new administrative capital, and the 10th Ramadan City.
The Tlokweng Project is the first EPC project undertaken by our company in Botswana, which is located in the Tlokweng district of Gaborone. With more residents moving in and commercial development, this district has faced more and more serious power shortages in recent years. In order to solve this problem, our company signed a 132/11kV substation EPC contract with Botswana Power Corporation and started construction in 2021. At present, the project has entered the stage of electrical installation and commissioning, and it is planned to be powered and handed over in 2022.
